South Rakaia School Commitiee.

The usual monthly meeting of the above Committee was held m the Library on Monday. Presant—Messrs /.Hardy (chairman) and Liddy, and Dr Cordner. The Master reported the average attendance for the past month at 161 #2; for past week, 168*9; highest) attendance, 177 ; and number on roll, 210. The Secretary of the Canterbury Typographical Association forwarded a circular I asking the Committee to boycot Whitcombe [ and Tombs m consequence of a labor dispute. , tClie Chairman was instructed to reply that the Committee have had no dealings with Whitcombe and Tombs, and if they had they consider that it is outside their duty to take part m any discussion of the kind. The Chairman was empowered to have the fences repaired, a new one erected, and to see to the swings being put m order. Le;ive of absence was granted to Miss Bilton for attending the examination at Canterbury College. The Board of Education applied for the Committee's opinion as to the desirability of i appointing a Trust Officer. It was resolved that the appointment of such an officer was iiot required m this district. The Chairman reported a. credit balance of: £1419s sd. The meeting then adjourned.
