TO THE KDIXOR. Sik, —Allow me to inform Mr Elston that the churches, chapels, and other public buildings m Ashburton use the name gas that is used m the Oddfellows' Hall. The Oddfellows' Hall is so deficient of light that it is impossible for me to read a hymn book or a programme, but in-the other'places, mentioned above, I have no difficulty m following the hymns, or eVen programmes. This is not the first time that there has been complaint about ibhe lighting of the Hall.—lam, etc., ', Gas.
