Wellington, August 23. A largely attended meeting of merchants and employers of labor was held last night. It was resolved to form an Association m the interests of employers of labor, the object being to provide a recognised body to deal with representatives of labor m all matters affecting common interests. The project was warmly taken up by those present, it being felt that the time had arrived when , some action should be taken for amicable adjustment of all differences between employera and employed. It was decided that the Association be non-political, and it was also resolved to solicit the cooperation of merchants and employers throughout the colony. An Executive Committee waa formed to carry out the objects of the Society, consisting of Messrs Blair, Levin, Reid, Scoulkr, Mills, Cable, and ten others, with power to add to their number.
