THURSDAY, JULY 31.

Th Council met at 2.30 p.m. dentists' bill. The Dentists Act Amendment Bill was read a third time and passed. LAW OP LIBEL BILL. Sir Frederick Whitaker moved the second reading of the Law of Libel Bill. After a debate the motion was carried, and the Bill was referred to a Select Committee.

LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL BILL. The Legislative Council Bill was further considered m Committee. Mr Reynolds' new clause, providing for ex-members of the Council retaining certain privileges after resigning, was agreed to. The Bill was reported with amendments and the third reading fixed for Tuesday next. * The Council adjourned at 3.55 p.m.
