Christchurck, July 30. The market was again well .attended and the business done :was good m the fafc stock. '" ■ ' '■ ' i,, Store Sheep.—About 1500 were yarded, for which there was a good demand. Two and four-tooth maiden, ewes brought up i,to 13s 7d ; lambs sold at-9s 9dto 12s 3d for good sorts of crossbreds. l£wes m lamb, aged, brought from 8a to 10s. Fat Cattle.—There was a good entry of beef, some jtriore consigned from the North Island being conspicuous.' Prices remain firm at from i22s- 6d to 24s per lOOlbs for prime, and from'lßs to 21s for cows or inferior sorts. Store Cattle.—There .was a remarkably small entry, of which the greater part were old cows,and oddlots., Fat- Sheep.—About 4,500' were yarded. There was nothing special m regard to quality. The price obtained for the best was 255, but these were an exception from the general rule, which made from 16s to 20s 6d, leaving the net price of mutton much about the same as has prevailed during the recent sales,, Good freezers fetched over 2^d per lb net weigh b. PiGß.—The entry of nearly 500, chiefly prime baconers, realised good prices, 3^d being about the average.
