Wellington, July 24. Mr John Duncan has been provisionally recognised as Consul for Portugal at Wellington. The " Gazette " notifies the removal of the name of Frank Bird, of Westporb, from the Commission of the Peace, such removal to take effect from and after the 28th instant. The "Gazette" also notifies that Frank Bird has been dismissed from the offices of Resident Magistrate, Warden, Coroner, Judge of Assessment, and Returning Officer at Westport, and from the Civil Service of the Colony.
