The half yearly meeting of the Star cf Ashburton Ancient Order of Druids was held last evening, A.D., Bro Pickford, presiding. There were about 50 members present, including visitors from the Oak of Sydenham, Blenheim, and Mistletoe Lodges. The Auditor's report and balance sheet were read and adopted, showing the Lodge to be m a sound financial condition. The Auditor congratulated the Lodge on the rapid strides made during the past six months, complimenting them on the careful and painstaking secretary they had m Bro Salek. The election and installation of officers was then proceeded with, D.P. Bro Pauling, installing the following officers :— Junior P.A.D., Bro H. A. Pickford; A.D., Bro T.- Walls ; V.A.D., Bro Johnstone ; Secretary, Bro Salek ; Treasurer, Bro Elston ; M.S., Bro Masson; A.D.B.'s, Bros Shaw and Pearson; V.A.D.B's. Bros Pauling and Dally ; 1.G., Bro. O'Connor; 0.G., Bro. Patterson. The installation over, the A.D. and officers briefly returned thanks for the honor conferred upon them by electing them to the various positions. During the evening a handsomely-framed Past Arch diploma was presented to Past Arch Bro. Pearson, m recognition of his abilities as Arch Druid. Bro. Pearson suitably responded. The Lodge being closed, the brethren repaired to an excellent repast, which, it is needless to say, was done full justice to. The following toasts were honored:—"The Queen" and the "Druids," "The District President," " Retiring Arch Druid," "Retiring Officers and Banquet Committee." Songs were given up to a late hour, when the brethren dispersed, after singing " Auld Lang Syne."
