The Loss of the Dacca.
[per press association.] f London, June 28. Official enquiries into the eii*cumstances connected with the loss of the British-India Company's steamer Dacca in the Bed Sea in May last is being held. In his opening address counsel \ laid charges of great negligence on the part of the cheers. The chief officer asserts that he called the captain twice, once after sighting Daedalus Reef (the reef on which the vessel was wrecked), and as the captain remained belowhe altered the vessel's course. The captain states he only remembers being called once, and was awoke by the vessel striking.'
