Christchurch, June 25. ; Despite the rain there was a good market. ■
Stoke Sheep.—Over 3000 were yarded comprising nearly all, classes. The demand was good, and all were cleared at the following prices : —A line of crossbred lambs, rather small, fetched 4s'; some larger framed ones up to 7s ; sound "mouthed crossbred ewes in 'lamb, 8s 6d to 10d 2d.; four-tooth crossbred wethers^ from 12s 2<i to 12s Bd. ;
r Lambs.'—There was a very small entry of fat lambs which, brought 10s to 13s 4cU Eat. Sheep.—The sale was a good one throughout, though sheep showed to the worst possible advantage in their wet skins. .The demand for good quality was such that prices were ,^ well maintained throughout. A -line- of : prime quality crossbred wetheWfrom"Sou*h, Canterbury brought up to 21s 3cl; je^ves, to 17s 9d ; while some good sorts of merinos in prime condition realised good prices. Fat Cattle.—There, were some prime bullocks which brought up to 21s per; lOOlbs, the remainder realised from 16s to 195./ \ " ; J. ';
Stork Cattle.—The sale of store' cattle * and dairy cows was very limited and the business done was poor.
Pigs.- About 350 head, <all good sorts! of farmers bacon pigs, were yarded, andi there was a good call for them at about: recent prices. "„•,;'■ ; '
