i.iThe Pride of Wakanui Lodge, heldita first anniversary last evening in the Main ■School, Wakanui; Notwithstanding the damp night, there was a capital attendance of friends and members of the Order, including many, from Ashburton. The spread was excellent in every particular, the tables literally groaned under the load of good things provided. The bachelors^ arrayed in ;white. hats; and aprons, were very conspicuous as waiters at their tables. After tea a good programme, was success? fully gone.through, Bro. Doak C.T. presided ; Bro Price, from Springburn, made a good practical address on individual ,esprts by all interested. Bro. G...W. Andrews L gave.;,a, few remarks on the advantage^ of, the Order, and its good work for humanity. Sister Brown, Sec, 1 read the; annual report, which showed a .- cry successful, year's work, the membership being,seventy on the roll, with a good-;financial balance to credit. ; The faJlpyring- persons contributed to the harinqny oJL the . .evening: —Sisters • Trevurza, Corbitt, Dalton, Bennett and Wilson; Brothers Counter, Bateman, M'Vicar, Corbitt,, Doak, Leadley, Bennett, McCree, Pickford . and Trevurza. After a I &w words from Bros. Leadley and Elston, a very cordial vote of thanks was rendered to all helpers. The meeting wa# then closed by singing God Save the Queen. ,
