Borough School Committee.

The Borough School; Committee met last evening. Present: Messrs W. J. Silcock (chairman), R. S. Bean, W, Craighead, and E. J. Paul. Correspondence was read from the Board of Education advising that the Clerk of Works and Mr Perryman would inspect the school buildings on June sth. The Chairman stated that the letter was dated June 4th, and it had reached Ashburton on June 6th. ...

It was resolved to ask. the Board to give a more extended notice of-any future visit of their members or officers, so as to give the Chairman or some other member' of the committee, an opportunity of meeting them. The Master reported an increased attendance at the school during the past month.

Messrs Bean and Paul were appointed a Visiting Committee.

Several.matters of routine were dealt with, and after passing accounts the meeting adjourned.
