Burned tn Death,
Auckland; June 9,
A two-roomed cottage at Henderson, owned by a man named Beetham, arid occupied by a gum digger named Porteous and wife was burned down on Saturday evening. Mrs Porteous was alone in the house, but under the influence of liquor shortly before the outbreak, and her charred remains were found in the debris subsequently.
