THE COLLIERY STRIKE.
DuNEDijf, May 25. The dispute between the men and Mr Freeman, the owner of tho cclliery at Abbotsford, has been satisfactorily settled by small concessions on each side. The men resume work on Tuesday morning. Nothing is settled yet regarding the strike at Shag Point. Five men, against whom eviction orders were obtained, left their houses quietly on Saturday, and the rest of,the men are preparing to do likewise if judgment goes against them. The notice from the enginemen expired on Saturday night, two of them having worked two days beyond at the request of the manager.
