The language of the Portuguese papers about England continues to be very pretty reading. One journal addressess Lorcf Salis. bury as the " Captain of the Isle of Pirates," j another refers elegantly to England's I sanguinary flag," and a local poet of eminence congratulates the valiant Serpa Pinto upon the ejection of "the robber hyaena "from Portuguese territory.
