Mr T. Bullock rej)orts for the week ending Saturday, April ,26th :—There was again a very large Gentry,, 51 horses being offered at the day's sale. Although biddings were languid, a large number changed hands, viz., 24, and more could have been sold had the reserves not been excessive. For aged horses of all descriptions it was difficult to obtain bids. Out of the 51 offered the following prices were obtained for the ,24 sold, viz., 3 year old draught fillies unbroken of rather a light stamp, £13 5s and £18 ; 2-year-old unbroken, £18 ; 5-year-old draught gelding, £20 ; 6-year-old of rather a lighter description, £17 ; 7-year-old of a good stamp, £18 ; aged, £9 10s, £10, £10 5s ; others mare and foal, £10 ; inferior, £210s to £6 15s ;. light harness horses, unbroken, £8 10s, £10 up to £13 5s according to description ; hacks, £5, £5 ,10s, £6 10s; and for an upstanding 7-year-oM of a good stamp, £14 was obtained; 2:year-blds. unbroken, £3 ssto £4; w.ffj-r.'nd -■"r-.Vh~r-£l'los to £2 2s 6d. b^-l— : ■■,•[>, ill , cart saddle and breeching, £2 10s ; collars, names and - blinkers, 5s 6d to 15s ; horse covers, a quantity of empty sacks, ( and sundries at market rates.
On Friday I held a clearing sale on account of Mr David Wilson at his homestead, Wakanui, of his horses, trap, buggy, implements, furniture, etc. when every lot offered was sold at very satisfactory prices. Spring- trap brought £22, harness, £7 12s 6d ; trap -mare, £10; buggy, £15 10s, buggy horse, £12 10s.
Intending purchasers are reminded that the sale of 97 horses on account of John Grigg, Esq., will take place at the County Sale-yards on Friday next, May, 2nd. commencing at 12 o'clock noon.' - -
