THE EXPEDITION AGAINST MPONDO. [per press association.] London, April 15. Replying to questions in the House of Commons, Sir James Ferguson states that the authorities at Lisbon had received no intimation of the proposed expedition against Mpondo in Shire district, but that if it was ascertained that such attack was contemplated immediate orders would be issued directing the expedition to be abandoned. The Delagoa Railway dispute is still unsettled, A telegram from Delagoa Bay con-fh-ms the news of a Portuguese expedition, 1200 strong, being despatched to attack Mpondo, Shire*.
