egal proceedings for outstanding rates not immediately paid. The Chairman stated that a letter had been written to the County Council, informing them that the Board would hold the Council responsible for any damage to the road, etc., that might happen through the turning of the south branch river, Ashburton, into the north branch near O'Shea's. The copy of a letter was read to the Board.
Accounts amounting to £46 19s 9d "were passed for payment and the Board adjourned.
