All horses must be the hotva fide property of a resident in the t district, and regularly used as a hack in the'district, for three (3) months previous to the race. 2. No horse that haswonover tenpounds (£10) of public money allowed to compete; any horse tint has won ten pounds (£10) of public money to carry (141b) fourteen pounds penalty, trot excepted, 3. No second prize will be given where less than three (3) compete.. 4. All protests must bY lodged with Secretary in writing within a quarter of an hour after the race, together with.the sum of £1 which shall be forfeited should thg Committee consider the protest frivolous, 5. The Committee reserve to themselves the right in any horse event where any fraud is suspected to impound the prize money in any such race and cast upon the owner of such horse the onus of proving' the reverse. 6. All events to be confined to the district, as bounded by the sea on one side, the Rakaia river on the other, ten miles (10) north of the main railway line on the other, and from Lauriston to the sea via Dromore railway statiou. 7. Nominations with fees, addressed Secretary, Chertsey Library, to be lodged with the Secretary not later than 9 p.m. on Thursday, , April 3rd, 1890. Fees to subscribers of half a sovereign to the fund before nominations 10s, under half a sovereign 20s, acceptance free. 8. The decision of the Committee in all matters to be final.
