Tho usual monthly meeting was held ''n tha library on Monday evening. Present: Messrs Hardy (chairman), Oxley, Liddy, Shannon, 0. D xoo, Dowllng and Harvey. The master reported an increased attendance, some twenty new.soholas oomtug during August. The eohool work was progressing very well with tho present staff, all working for the production of good results. Some small requirements were asked for. Tha attendenoe waa aa follows: Average for monkb, 164 3 ; for past week, 171*1 ; highest attendanoe, 179 : No. on roll, 208
It was decided to procure tho Items naked for m he report.
The Board of Eduonthn wrote stating that tho p*lntiag of tho school would net be done till next month. Somo oopUs of a p»trlotlo hymn wore also reoelved. Tho Secretary of the Bo»rd also wrots as followa wth regard to the appointment of an Infant mistress : — " I have the honor by direotion of the Board of Education to acknowledge the reoelpt of y.iur letter of August 7 h and In reply to Bay that the Board much regrets to find Itself unable to meat the Oomm.ttee'a wishes, but that after full consideration thnßotrd oannotdepart from its previous decision as oominonloated to the Oommittee ia Its letter of the lat Inst. After dlsouaaiou Mr Oxley moved " that this Oommittee after again fully considering the matter, and having tbe Ititereat of the sohool at heart, regrets to find Itself unable to select a more suitable Infant mistress than Miss Blton, and requests the Board to comply with the Committee's reoommond»tlon," Seconded by Mr Dowllng; Mc Dixon moved as au amendment "that the Oommittee oonsider tbe applications now returned by the Board." Seoonded by Mr Llddy, The resolution was curled.
The Bub-Oommliteo reported on the Improvements oarried out during the month.
Accounts for £4 lOj were passed for payment, and thn. meeting adjourned.
