Sheep.— The sale of fat sheep was well •upplied and opsned briskly. Some Bangor maiden ewes of excel leu t quili y sold at 15s 2d, while a line cf half bred wethers from Holmes' ea estate realised 15s, 17s 6d and 17s tod ; some from Actiay lexlisedup to 18s 3d; ai'.d a line of merino wethers from Burnt Hill realised up to 93. There was a decided advance on recent quotations, m sima instances amounting to 2s 6d per head. Prime mutton, 2#dper Ib. Th » firsc pen of fat lambs for the season was subnrtted and met with keen competition fetching up to 16;. The store sheep market was a small one, but quality all round was specially good, many l'nes of hoggets selling at excellent rates. Cr^ss'-red hoggets fetched from 7s to 9s 4d; forward merino wethers up to 7s 4d ; cross- ' bred ewes m Jamb to some of Mr Grigg's . long-woolled roms, fetched 9s id, 1 Cattle— Of fit cattle there only a small ent y, but it was of decidedly good quality, and a general rise of is to 2s per ioolb was apparent. The highest price realised was £% [ 7s 6d, which represented 20s per ioolb or a little over, and nothing offered realised less than 17s per ioolb. The store cattle entry was limited and represented by small farmers' lots which. sold freely at prices fully equal to, if not m advance of former prices
Best quality veal calves fetched up to 365, smaller kinds good prices m accordance with their quality. Pigs — The entry was very small ' including only two pens of good baconers, the remainder consis ing of porkers and stores. Prices were slightly above last weeks quotations,
