. — ♦ Mr D. Thomaß (late of Matson, Oox, and Oo.) reports upon the Live Stook Market m tha Ashburton Diatriot tot the week ending July 2nd, as follows : — On Tuesday at the Tinwald Yards I held my üßual weekly Bale of sheep, oattle, and pigs. The total entry consisted of 3280 sheep, 41 oattle, 14 pigs, and 6 rams, of whioh I sold 1636 sheep, 33 oattle, and 2 pigs. The attendanoe was small, and bidding throughout the sale Black, especially for turnip sheep. In oattle there waa an improved tone, and most of the entry was sold, at an advanoe on late sale. The following are tht prices realised :— Fat crossbred eweß, 9a 6d, lls 2d, to 13a 2d ; merino ewes, 5a 2d ; oroß*. bred ewes m lamb, 8a 7d to 9a 6d ; oroaabred lambs, 7s 9d. In oattle— Fat heifers, £3, £4 t £4 ss, £4 12s 6d ; yearlings, 23 a ; apringeri, £4 153, £5 23 6d, to £5 sa. In piga— Breed* ing sows, £2 9s.
