The Surveyors' repprt was read as follows : —
Dralnoga, Harrison's Boad. — We have inspected this road with reforenco (0 an outlet for the water from Messrs Chalmers' land. We find there are several gullies running through their property, whioh m winter lime are fall of water owing to there being no outlet across the road. In one case pipes have been put across the road aod tho water allowed to tnko its natural conrno whioh is the only way to do with tbo others, We wonld reoommeni that 61a pipes be put m at eaoh place which would, we think, give tho neoeasary relief to tbe land above tho work. Tbe ford on this road requires deeponing, and a better outlet made m tbe fence for the water to get away. Drainage, Beach Ro.d. — We havealeo inspeoted the drainage of the Beaoh Road below Mr Meredith Wilson's, and find that tbero is a natural depression m the land at this point, and the orown of tha road m low. Tbo only tray we nee of gotting rid of tbe water to ty mnkiog a ford across tho roal and running it into the County water race, which would necessitate the race being deep ned
Ford, Station Reid.— This ford has been put m order by the Oonn'y Oounoil* We would draw the Board's attention to the faot that tbe stuff mcd has been soooped from the side of the road whioh bas been. left m \holeß and very uneven. The lower side of this road from the ford to Butlerick'n Boad has been ploughed, without, we believe, tho sanotion of the Board.
Buckley's Boad.—- The ooniraotor for formation of part of this road is proceed* iag with the work, and should finish about tbe end of next week. Wilson's Boad.— We have had the sides of this toad ploughed oat to destroy tbe tussocks The work requires some more attention whioh will be Riven as soon as more urgent lporks are oomplpted.
