The weather was extremely fine to-day and the attendance if not so good as usual comprised most of the leading dealers aud a fair sprinkling of farmers. Store Sheep.— rThere was only a moderate entry of store sheep, for which a good demand existed- The prices obtained were : — Merino wethers, 3s 3d ; sound mouthed crossbreds m lamb] Ss to 8s zd ; two-tooth halfbred Down ewes, 8s lid; small crossbred lambs, 4s; good sorts from 6s 6d to 8s 10(1. (. Store Cattle — There was only a moderate supply and m consequence prices remained firm at former quotations. Good quality yearlings of both sexes fetched from 25s to 275 ; two year old steers reached up to 15s ; do heifers up to £2 iis ; two arid arhalf year old steers sold up to £3 103 and heifers to £$ is 6d , Dairy cows were poorly represented, but those m profit realised at up to^Bis«. ' :'.'. Fat Cattik.— The sale of b6ef to-day was marked with a decided fall, prices not being maintained at anything like those of the past few weeks. The highest price received for any steer was £6 17s 6d, which represented no more than 16s per ioolb. None but best quality met with a market.
FaT Sheep.— There was a very heavy entry, the fat sheep pens being well filled throughout, and the quility was on the whole as good as has Been seen at Addington for some time* The price of mutton remained much as at late sajes, the demand" being well sustained, and m all cases where prime wether mutton was submitted 2d per. lb was ob ained. Some very prime haltbred sheep sent up from Dunedin realised from 17s o,d to 193 which was the top price obtained during the day, but several other good lines of sheep were sold at equally satisfactory rates.
