Mexico, May 2. A Mexican mob made an attempt to release five Jesuit prisoners who had been committed to gaol at Guananaxuto the capital of the state of the same name, for preaching seditious sermons. The troops were called out to protect the Governor of the gaol and were compelled to fire on the mob. Two hundred of the latter were killed.
