Gkkymouth, May 2 At Brunnerton thin morning Inapeotor Emeraon, Mr Woqn, Collector of Quatoma, and the looal polioe, made a seigare at Maiso .i Laylor'B brewery of a quantity of spirits and distilling implements. Laylor was arrested, and la now m custody, He Is a weli-knovrn brewer, and an old resident of this distriot, Invbboaroill, May 3. Mr Douglas, atationmaiter atßiveradale, who was rqn down by a waggon some weeks baok, his foot haviDg oaueht m the frog of the crossing while shunting, died this afternoon m the Hospital. Bis recovery was not at any tim.e hoped for by the medical staf?, but he stood amputation pf the leg better tban was anticipated. The immediate cause of death was pneumonia. Mr Douglas was a yoong man, and leaves a widow and children.
