Ottawa, April 29. A terrible railway accident is reported as having occurred at Hamilton, situated at the western extremity of Lake Ontario. Latest news to hand respecting the occurrence states that an excursion train was thrown off the line, the carriages were telescoped and almost immediately flames broke out in the wrecked train. An awful scene ensued. Consequent on the great number of excursionists travelling by the train many were killed and burned ; no fewer that eighteen bodies, each burnt almost to a cinder, have been recovered.
