Speaking at the dinner at the Institute of Naval Architects, Lord George Hamilton, First Lord of the Admiralty, said that courage and Bkill like that displayed by Captain Cane and the officers and men of H.M.S. Calliope, on the occasion of the recent hurricane at Samoa, were not rare m the British Navy, and did not deserve any special recognition.
