At the inquest yesterday a verdlot of death from apoplexy waa returned. Ballooning. Akroyd, Baldwin's agent has returned from Sydnoy. The engagement with Ackroyd has been cancelled and he will return to .England, WUliams, a Sydney watchmaker and parachutist, oontemplatea giving Exhibitions m New Zealand. Committed for Trial Jas. Ohalcrufc was committed for trial on a charge of setting fire to a itack of oaten hay on the 16th inst. Tbe prisoner bad threatened to roast out the owner ef tbe staok and on the night of the fire wai ■een running away from the vicinity while the stack was bornlog. Died under Chloroform. Dusbdot, February 27. William Gamming*, 11 yean of age, died yesterday under chloroform administered for the performance of a serious operation. Tbe lad was attended by Drs Oiughtrey and Teevan, and had on two previous occasion* been given a greater qaantlty of aosaithetlo wlthont 111 result*. Every care was taken, DrTeevan administering the chloroform and Dr Oougbtrey operating, but tbe patient died from aynoope of the heart daring the operation.
