Government state m explanation of their refusal to be officially represented at the Dunedin Exhibition that they have spent excessive sums on exhibitions, and that that at Dunedin is of insufficient importance to warrant the expenditure of any more money by this colony. Government state that they are also influenced by the fact that New Zealand was not officially represented at the Adelaide Exhibition. It ii probable that some of the largest manufacturers here will send exhibits to the Dunedin Exhibition.
