Daring a dispute m the bar of the Hot Springs Hotel, Te Aroha, yesterday evening, between two men, one of them, John Wood, drove a small titree stick into the face of the other, Frederick Hyde The wood passed m by the eyeball and behind the nose, causing a serious wound, the bleeding being stopped with difficulty. Wood was arrested to day and remanded Nsw Plymouth, February 12 An extraordinary case of housebreakiog occurred at Inglewood on Saturday last. Alexander Lang. a. leading settler, a member of the Town Board, Pohool Committee, &o , was caught coming out of fbe window of Marsh's store at midnight.
