ASHBURTON VOLUNTEER FIRE BRIGADE

The annual meetbg of members of the Ashburton Volunteer Fire Brigade was held at the station, Burnett street, last evening. There was a good attendar.ee of members, and Mr W, B. Moas, 0.8.P., end some of the offioers of the Western Brigade were preßont by Invitation. An invitation bad also been lent to the Borough Councillors, but none of them put iv an appearance, though the Brigade waited for them for a considerable time. This apparent neglect appeared to be pretty keenly felr, the more so that the same thing happened last year.
