BISMARCK AND THE PRESS.

Greenwood, until lately editor of the "St.; James' Gazette," asserts that Bismarck attempted to " nobble" the paper, and that he resigned because he was not allowed to pursue an independent policy with regard to Germany Mr Steinkoff, who recently purchased the paper, hai denied that Germany has any hold over it
