GERMANY AND SAMOA
[Pib Pans Association.] Bbrun, January 8. The news that Germany had lost several men m the recent fight at Samoa created a painful sensation m this city. The Press, m referring to the difficulty m Samoa, expresses a hope that America will end her intrigues and facilitate a settlement by admitting the great preponderance of German commercial interests m the islands. It also urges Prince Bismarck to make serions and energetic representations at Washington on the subject.
