LOYAL INDIAN PRINCES.
Lord Dufferin, Viceroyof India, at a durbar at Pattiala, announced that the Government had decided not to accept the money proffered by the native princes for the defence of India. He urged the chiefs instead to raise their troops to a pitch of efficiency, rendering them fit for service, and promised that the British Government would supply officers and arms to help them.
