Brisbane, November 15. The leading Chinese merchant of Cooktown has received information that the Government will retaliate on the Australians for their action m preventing the introduction of the Chinese into the colonies by : imposing a poll tax of 10 dollars on every Britisher entering Canto, Shanghai, Amoy, and Foo Chow. Admiral Fairfax has forwarded to Commander H, Wright a report on the latter's dispute with the Queensland Government to the Admiralty. • ■ • ]
