Ptlvato advices received In Auckland by last mft II from Samoa state that the Gorman BqnarJron w&3 expected- to arrive nt the island within a fortnight from the date of writing. It was folly anticipated that on the arrival of the iquadion the German 1 ) wonld commence aotive operations against the Malietoa natives, end assume control of the Islands. Weber, th« former German Consul at Samoa, was stated to be a passenger by the rquadron, and it Is believed he haa epeoial authority to deal with existing difficulties.
