THE CHINESE QUESTION.
London, Ootober 17
The " Times " this morning has an article on the case of Ah Foy versus the Collector of Customs, recently decided m Melbourne. The paper congratulates the Australians on the judgment of the Appeal Court which was m favor of the plaintiff, and declares that all lovers of international fair play will rejoice at the result, as it is conclusive evidence that the unreasonable excitement of some Australian politician^ is not shared by the people. The article recommends America to imitate the colonies and mete out justice to the Chinese.
