We have heard doubts expressed as to the possibility of growing 2,0001 b of fine tobacco on an acre of ground, and of obtaining a satisfactory price for the leaf if the production exceeded the amount which Vollbracht'a Tobacco Company contracted to take (remark? the Hawke’s Bay Herald). As some evidence on these points we notice in the Planter’s Mem to that on the Cairn’s plantation, Barron riyer, North India, the average crop this ?'ear is a top and a quarter, or ever 2,800 b pet acre of the best varieties, and that offers were received from Sydney houses for the purchase of the whole crop on the spot at from L7O to LBO per ton. Delivered in Sydney it would, of course, be worth much more, os carriage from the north of India would be a serious Item.

These pills prevent both unpleasant consequences ; they improve the appetite and with the increase of desire for food, they augment the powers of digestion and assimilation in the stomach. Holloway's Pills deal most satisfactorily with deranged or diseased conditions of tlie many organs engaged in extracting nourishment for our bodies from our various diets—as the liver, stomaoh, and bowels, over all of which they exercise the most salutary control. By resorting at an early stage of this malady to these purifiying and laxative Pills, the dyspeptic is speedily restored ip health and strength, and his ssllowness gradually vanishes.—f Advt. * I’HP Bap and Worthless are never imitated or counterfeited. This is especially true of a family medicine, and it is positive proof that the remedy imitated is of the highest value. As soon as it has been tested and proved by the whole world that Hop Bitters was the purest, best, and most valuable family medicine on earth, many imitations sprung up and began to steal the notices in which the press and the people of the country expressed the merits of H, 8., and in every way trying to induce sudenng invalids to use their stuff instead, expecting to make money on the credit and good name of H. B. Many others started nostrums put up in similar style to H. 8., with variously devised names in which the word “ Hop ” or “Hops ” were used in a way to induce people to believe they were the same as Hop Bitters. All such pretended remedies or cures, no matter what their style or name is, and especially those with the word "Hop” or “Hops” in their name or in any way connected with them or their 'name, sire imitations or counterfeits. Beware of.them. Touch none of them. Use nothing but genuine American Hop Bitters, With a pundi or cluster of green Hops on the white IpbeJ, and Dr Soule’s name blown in the glass. Trust nothing else. Druggists and chemists are wanted ageinst pealing in imita counterfeits.
