They, were, however, ejected from the station by a force of constabulary on duty, whereupon they assembled in the vicinity of the railway and hooted the train on arrival. A riot also took place at Cork between the Nationalists and the loyal section of the community, during the progress of which a number of windows were smashed by stones.
