Ashburton Guardian Office, Wednesday Afternoon. Mr Alfred Harrison reports the week as follows; Tuesday, December 19th, and Wednesday, December 20th, 1 held a sale at my rooms by order of the trustee in an assigned estate of books, fancy goods, etc. The attendances were very good, and all lots were cleared. Saturday, December 23rd, I held my weekly sale at my yards. Entries in ho.ses were not heavy, but several sales were effected from Ls to Lx 3. Pigs are a little lower again, bat all lots were cleared. Calves sold only moderately well. Fowls fetched 2s to 5s per pair ; ducks only -3s to 4s ; geese, 10s per pair; turkeys, ios to 16s per pair. Light trap, L 9 ISs ; ditto, Ll 6 ios ; dray, L 9 15s. Produce : Potatoes,*id per lb; onions, i%d per lb; chick wheat, 3s per bushel; bran, 4s per loolb; oats have fallen heavily, and sold at from 2s to at fid per bushel. Harness dull. A quantity of fumiture and effects sold well. The attendance was a large one, and a capital sale found for most, entries.
