NEW ZEALAND RIFLE ASSOCIATION.

[by telegraph.] Dunedin, To-day.

The firing was continued until seven o’clock last night, when the Union match was completed The civiliana’rnatch, and also the Wellington match for carbines, which had been postponed from Saturday, were finished at six o’clock. The weather during the forenoon was favorable for shooting, a light southerly wind blowing down the range, but shortly after no n the wind changed to the opposite quarter, and blew rather fresh. The wind blows right across the range, and to this cause was attributed the low scoring last after noon

Several of the riflemen who held commanding positions for the aggregates fell back in the Marlborough match; for ins ance, Captain Paynter, to everybody’s surpr se, only recorded 47, while topscorer Kennedy finished with 76. A. Ballinger also fell away, only scoring 8 at 600 yards.
