[per press association.] A Land Dispute. New Plymouth, To-day. The Native Land Court have given their final judgment re the Mokau land, which is in favor of the resident section of the Ngatiamanipoto. The judge said that Rewi only had an inferior interest in the land, as a chief of the tribe assisted in the conquest, and this by no means enabled him to dispose of the land without the consent of the resident _ possessors, much less in opposition to their wishes. Keeping Sis Wife in Order. Christchurch, To-day. At the R.M. Court to-day a man named Dowey, charged with unlawfully wounding his wife with a potato fork, was remanded, as the woman was too ill to appear. Dog Show. The Dog Show at the Exhibition was a great success. Upwards of 250 dogs were shown. A Fatal Accident. Oamaru, To-day. Derrett, the jiurser of the s.s. Grafton, died in the hospital this morning, from injuries received at the harbor works on Wednesday;
