[by telegraph. J Wellington, To-day, The select committee appointed to enquire into the working of the Corrupt Practices Act, with a view of dealing with Pilliet’a case, met this morning, and adjourned till to-morrow morning, when its report will be submitted to the House. In order that no time may be lost in having the writ for the Stanmore seat issued, together with the removal of Pilliet’s disqualifications, an adjournment was made to consider what the best shape the proceedings should take. The feeling is very unanimous in Hilliet’s favor in both branches of the Legislature, and there is no doubt of his disqualification being removed at once.
