[PBR PRESS ASSOCIATION.] * Life and Death. Opunake, To-day. Hopes are now entertained of Fowler’s recovery under the skilful treatmad of Dr Alexander. An M.H.R. Fined £l. Kumaka, To-day, In the Warden’s Court yesterday, Mr Seddon, M. H. R , pleaded in a case on behalf of the defendants. In addition to a verdict for plaintiffs, the .Warden allowed plaintiff’s expenses. Mr Seddon ejaculated—“ I expected as much.” The Warden held this to be contempt of Court, and inflicted a fine of LI. Mr Seddon refused to pay the fine, and would have gone to gaol, but some friends paid the tine against his will, and he was discharged. Died In Harness. Dunedin, To-day. James Walls, an aged miner, was found dead in his hut at Adams’ Flat.
