[per press association.] Hiroki’s Trial. New Plymouth, To-day. Hiroki was brought up at the Police Conrt this morning at eleven o’clock, when D. Fraser, a surveyor, gave evidence as to finding the body of McLean. This witness is now being examined. Celestials in Trouble. Wellington, To-day. At the R. M. Court to-day four Chinamen were charged with playing fan-tan, and fined L 5 each. Ah Lung, for keeping a gambling house, was fined LlO or a month’s imprisonment. Eight Chinamen were also charged with being in a gambling house without lawful excuse, and were discharged. Divorce. At the Divorce Court a decree nisi was granted in the following cases:—Goldstein v. Goldstein, Hornby v. Hornby, and Millichamp v. Millichamp, all of Dunedin. AlmostJU nanim dus. Dunedin, To-day. Mr Dick addressed a large meeting last night. He spoke for nearly three hoars, and received all but an unanimous vote of confidence. A Good Profit and Dividend. The Mosgiel Woollen factory’s n . profit for the year is L 6,930, and they have declared a dividend of ten per cent, carrying forward L4,4U. I
