GUITEAU’S TRIAL.

Attempted Assassination of the Murderer.

(by cable.)

Washington, Nov. 19.

The trial of Guiteau continues. The late President’s vertebras was produced in Court to-day for the purpose of illustrating the testimony of the medical witnesses. Guiteau’s demeanor in Court is quite callous. An attempt was made on his life to-day, as he was being conveyed back to prison. A mounted man fired at him with a revolver, and wounded Guiteau in the hand. The perpetrator of the outrage, with the aid of his horse, succeeded in effecting his escape and is still at large.
