WATERTON PUBLIC CEMETERY BOARD.
' The second meeting. of this Board was '•held in the Longbeach Schoolroom on Tuesday evening. There were present Messrs Andrew Dawson, Thomas Tayloi*, and Norman P. Thompson. In the ; 'absence of the Chairman, Mr Thomas ■ ' Taylor was' voted to the chair. Some formal business was disposed of, and the following correspondence was . read :j- -- Ytom the Ashburton County Council, ‘'placed to the credit of the Board at the . Bank of New Zealand, Ashburton.—From the Longbeaoh Road Board, in reply, giving the Cemetery Board" permission to .. fence in and plant with forest trees an . r additional, eighteen perohes of gravel reserve No. 1442. This was ordered to be acknowledged with thanks.—The tenders of Mr Hugh Kennedy, at Ll 4 9s 6d, for ploughing and fencing, and Messrs Sea)y BrosJ, at L2O, for planting, were accepted. Mr . Charles Brader’s tender, at LSI for gate and picket fence at . approach and central cross, was rejected I; as being too high, and the Secretary was to. let this work at any sum T not exceeding his estimate.
