[per eedter’s agency.] The Wool Sales. London, June 15. At the wool sales to-day 10,600 bales were catalogued, and a firmer demand was experienced. Prices for greasy wool are about higher ; greasy crossbreds and coarse wools rule about the same prices as in the last sales. Closed Houses. In the House of Commons to-day a Bill providing for the closing of publichouses in Wales on Sundays was read a third time and passed. The Fine Paid. Capetown, June 15. Telegrams are to hand reporting that the Basutos have paid the fine which was levied upon them by the Cape Government, in accordance with the terms of peace agreed to in April last. Very Backward. New York, June 15. In nearly all the American wheatgrowing districts, the wheat crops this season are very backward.
