The City .Council ,by 5 to 4,) yesolved to open the Free Public Library on Sundays, between the hours of ttvb and six ih the afternoon, and seyqn and ten at night.: Resigned. Messrs- Russell and .Devqwi, the city solicitors, have resigned, in consequence of a resolution of the legal committee of'lhe Council, that they cuuld not consistently act for both the Council and the Harbor Board.
