A Dutchman named Henry Leema, a cook on board the barque Andes, now lying in the Timaru roadstead, was arrested this morning by detective Kirby, on a charge of stabbing his messmate. Leema came ashore yesterday and got some drink, and on returning to the ship quarrelled with one of the sailors, and fought and stabbed him in the head with a tin-opener, inflicting a severe wound.
